China Moves and Weaving

Chinese-American Michael Mao aims to capture his Chinese heritage, demonstrate his knowledge and appreciation of classical ballet, and hold true to the traditions of American modern dance. China Moves investigates the notion of "Chineseness" in the creative minds of artists who are ethnically Chinese and leaders in their art forms. It is a journey from the individual to the strength of community, from the purely apolitical notion of oneself to other, others and many; it is the story of humanity in general.
