Ramine <ramine@1.1>: Apr 16 06:55AM -0700 Hello, I got this benchmark results for my Parallel Varfiler from Joseph Mitzen: Ok, I have an AMD FX chip that has 4 "modules" but 8 integer processing units. On the other hand, the machine I'm on at the moment doesn't have Windows installed. I ran your benchmark using the "WINE" compatibility layer (not an emulator) that allows running many Windows programs on Linux. This is the result I got: Testing ParallelVarfiler... Time in microseconds for a single thread reading 10000 items is: 199776 Time in microseconds for 8 threads reading concurrently 80000 items is: 275311 Time in seconds for reading concurrently one million items is: 3.4413875000000000E+0000 Scalability with 8 logical processors is: 5.8051004137139453E+0000 Test finished... Since I got the highest scalability do I win a prize? Just kidding. Just glad those extra processing units I paid for are good for something! Thank you, Amine Moulay Ramdane. |
