What Jesus does is forgive our sin, and take our sins physically away from us. This makes our spirit alive (born again, John 3), and our soul comes out of being under condemnation and judgment and we are then alive in eternity. That new spirit nature that comes live is able to give us a new perspective our flesh-only existence could not. It is there that God's own Holy Spirit (which is also spirit) speaks to us, and teaches us new things. You do not have that spirit nature. None of us do until we come to Christ and ask forgiveness. All you can do is move by what your flesh guides you toward, and the enemy (also spirit) uses that limitation against you, causing you to move for his will, even though you think you are moving by your own will, and are making your own choices. You are not. That enemy's watched you since birth and tested you and poked at you and prodded at you spiritually. It knows which way to twist your knobs and dials to make you do what he wants you to. All flesh is owned by that spirit, and the Bible records that Satan is literally leading the whole world astray. It means they believe in Christ, His prophecies, that the end will be fulfilled when the time is correct. They point people to Christ. There are some that do it for profit. They seek to make money by selling books or whatever. Others give away their thoughts, and warn others to be ready. The Bible teaches us to be ready continually (parable of the ten virgins) because the call can ring out at any time. Christians know the way Jewish weddings used to be, that the son who seeks to marry a daughter would go to her parents and make the engagement. That son would return to his father's house and spend time preparing the place he and his wife would live in. The father would govern when everything was right and prepared, and then send the son out when it was done. The son would leave at haste and go and retrieve his bride. This could come in the morning, in the evening, at any time, so the bride would be constantly on the ready. We (Christians) maintain our lives that way. We point to sig- nificant dates of convergence of various things because in the past God has aligned events with major things. Jesus came when the world was about 4,000 years old, for example. He has a para- ble of raising Lazarus from the dead where Lazarus had been dead 4 days and was decaying with strong odor (just like how sin has ravaged mankind and has him "stinking" with unholiness). Jesus also waited two days after hearing Lazarus was dead before actually coming to raise him from the dead. This is like the 4,000 years since creation (4 days) and the 2,000 years since the Jews rejected Jesus and His (God's) attention turned to the Gentiles during this age. We are literally there at the end-most times right now. The rap- ture could happen at any time. At any day. Yet there are cues in scripture which indicate when it might be. One of them is about to be fulfilled again, which is the time be- fore Summer this year. Israel is now in its 71st year. It's been 49+ years since the order to rebuild Jerusalem has gone out, which Daniel 9:20-27 prophesied. Those things Daniel said about how the knowledge would increase and people would go to and fro ... those have all been fulfilled as well. Jesus fulfilled the Spring Feasts with His crucifixion, resurrection, and the giving of His Holy Spirit at Pentecost. What remains now is the Passover, and the Fall Feasts. This upcoming time is the Passover (before Summer). Will it happen at that time? Only the Father in Heaven knows, but all of the true saints of God will heed the warnings, acknowledge the signs, sound the alarms, and be vigilant. To expect perfection from a flawed human being who still lives in this sinful world attached to this sinful body ... is unreasonable. Even Jesus struggled saying "The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak," and He did not have any sin weighting Him down. He was sin-free, and fully in tune with God the Father. How much more are we signi- ficantly burdened by our own sin and the sin of this world? Look to the pattern of one's life. The change across all avenues.
