"Rick C. Hodgin" <rick.c.hodgin@gmail.com>: Nov 12 12:43PM -0800 Is there a concept in C++ of a compile-time constructor, such that it does not generate code to call the constructor function at in- stantiation, but merely allocates the class's required block size, and then does a memcpy() from a compile-time pre-computed constructor block? If there were no variables unknown at compile-time regarding how the object would instantiate, that would seem to be a path to a great potential saving in time if you had a lot of objects to instantiate. -- Rick C. Hodgin |

I do not know the answer. I think I do, but I am not certain. Sound familiar, Leigh? And yes,I was considering adding it to a compiler project I'm in pursuit. Not sure yet though. It would be a potentially difficult analysis to determine if it truly is static depending on its inheritance. -- Rick C. Hodgin |

Rivers cut into the rocks over millenia? Or will birds in their fully formed 3D geometry be instantiated? And will rivers be created likewise? When people use your neoGFX game engine for space games, will light traveling from distant galaxies be invisible to the user for the millions of years it would take them to arrive from their emitter source to the area of your game action? Or will they be visible in the sky, even though they're representing things millions of light years away, simply being instantiated in their form with all necessary details brought to bear to exhibit an influence upon the target game area? Does > God do these things to spread FUD? Sounds like a strange thing for a > benevolent god to do. It's only scientists who have told us the universe is millions or billions of years old. It's only scientists who have said the fossils we find are millions of years old. It's not from other sources, and there is a source from thousands of years prior, one with corroborating evidence (such as dinosaurs shown on buildings, on artwork, depicted in writings and drawings from man's own direct living history), which says dinosaurs are not millions of years old, but are part of God's creation. In addition, regarding space ... we've never been out there in the starship Enterprise to actually see first hand what's out there. We've only been told by scientists and physicists what they theor- ize. We've only been to the moon at the furthest extent personally. We've had probes go out further, but did you ever seen The Truman Show? Or the movie The Thirteenth Floor? Honestly ... how do we know where we live? How do we know we can trust? When you examine the character of God and who He is and what He's done ... the truth reveals itself. Can I say we don't live in a computer simulation running on God's computer: Universe* u = new Universe(); u->run(); No. We don't have a great enough perspective to know such things definitively. What we can know definitively is the character of God, and we can then put our faith and trust in Him that He does not lie, cannot lie, and that His promises to us (such that He will reveal all things to us on the other side of this proving ground we live in now) are trustworthy. You have faith, Leigh. You have faith in what scientists tell you. In your own beliefs. What you think you know. And there is another faith which teaches that your faith has no truth, but is only wispy faith like unsolid air. It has no solidity at all, but only exists so long as you support and uphold it. However, when examined with scrutiny and in detail, it crumbles. There is nothing about the Bible which crumbles with scrutiny and an examination in detail. Even the really hard things yield an explanation when you dive in deep enough, press in hard enough, and seek the truth for real. I am incapable of convincing you, Leigh. But I can point out the flaws in your own thinking. You must personally desire to know and pursue the truth about things ... until YOU make that decision within yourself, the truth will be forever hidden from you. But on the day you seek the truth, on that day you will find it. -- Rick C. Hodgin |

The lyrics record God's reply: "I will send out an army to find you in the middle of the darkest night. It's true. I will rescue you. I will never stop marching to reach you in the middle of the hardest fight. It's true. I will rescue you." He reaches out with both hands (on the cross, and now out to you personally).
