I don't care, as long as she doesn't use "void main()". And: https://twitter.com/BriannaWu/status/1569856303417233409 -- Jan v/d Broek balglaas@dds.nl |

Your Hx gives an incorrect halting decision if Px is rewritten as: void Px(ptr x) { int Halt_Status = Hx(x, x); (void)Halt_Status; return; } It is patently obvious to everyone except you that if Hx is a valid halt decider then it must return a value to Px meaning Px will then halt. Your Hx gives a halting decision of non-halting which is erroneous. /Flibble |

I guess the term embedded is a bit diluted these days with how powerful SoCs have become. Working on projects for very small processors, I've only used C or assembly and my main experience is using PICs. I have toyed with the idea of using C++, but there isn't really any free C++ compilers PICs as far as I've found. Thank you for an informative reply! |

I was trying to stay away from Conda. I was a VMS / Unix programmer back in the late 1980s and 1990s, I have forgotten much of my Unix. I have an old 1992 Sun workstation upstairs in the office but I doubt that it would boot. Lynn |
