Ramine <ramine@1.1>: Apr 17 09:17PM -0700 Hello..... I correct, please reread my proof by contradiction.. I think that we have also to prove by contradiction... If the serial part of the Amdahl's law is 1/16 the overall parallel program, so when you will test with USL with fewer cores and fewer threads, let say 8, you can escape contention on the serial part, and this will make the nonlinear regression of USL to fail to predict in this particular case, so since it fails on this particular case , so this makes the USL methodology to fail, it is like a proof by contradiction in mathematics. So from this, how can we believe this USL methodology ? i think that Dr. Gunther the author of USL methodology must explain to us what is this magical thing that makes his USL methodology succeed. Thank you, Amine Moulay Ramdane. |
Ramine <ramine@1.1>: Apr 17 01:38PM -0700 Hello..... You have seen giving a more intuitive proof about the USL methodology.. But i think we can be confident with the USL methodology from Dr. Gunther , because Dr. Gunther is an expert that knows what he is doing, so i think USL methodology is working well and it is a great tool that can predict scalability. Here is the website of the Dr- Gunther the author of USL methodology. http://www.perfdynamics.com/ And read here about it: http://www.perfdynamics.com/Manifesto/USLscalability.html So i think my USL programs are great tools that can predict scalability, my USL programs support nonlinear regression using the simplex method as minimization that is more efficient.. You can download my USL programs version 3.0 with the source code from: https://sites.google.com/site/aminer68/universal-scalability-law-for-delphi-and-freepascal Thank you, Amine Moulay Ramdane. |
